Gameplay

As you travel through Kalos to become the Champion, you will discover an ancient secret hidden for 3,000 years. You must find the source of a legendary power to stop a group that wants to use an ancient weapon to reset the world.

Region Overview

Kalos is a region inspired by France, filled with high fashion and beautiful landmarks. You can explore the massive Lumiose City, ride on the backs of certain Pokémon like Skiddo or Mamoswine to cross tough terrain, and for the first time, customize your character's clothes and hair to show your own style.

THREAT ANALYSIS

Team Flare is a stylish but dangerous group led by the ambitious Lysandre. They believe the world is becoming too crowded and ugly, so they plan to use the power of the legendary Pokémon Xerneas or Yveltal to eliminate everyone except their own members.

System

This generation introduced some of the most iconic changes in the series:

Mega Evolution

A powerful, temporary transformation that allows certain Pokémon to reach a new level of strength during battle. It requires a strong bond and special Mega Stones.

The Fairy Type

A brand-new elemental type introduced to balance the power of Dragon-types. Pokémon like Sylveon and Gardevoir now belong to this magical category.

Pokémon-Amie

A new feature that lets you pet, feed, and play with your Pokémon using the touch screen. This builds a deeper bond, which can help them perform better in battles.

Super Training

An interactive way to help your Pokémon grow stronger by playing mini-games to increase their base stats.
